SharpMate Plus can handle blades up to 2 3/8" wide. For longer blades like slicks or timber chisels, the main consideration is stability — if the handle causes tipping, you can anchor the SharpMate to your bench.

If you have the original SharpMate: max blade width is 1⅞" (up to 2⅛" with your own wider stone) unless you've added the Upgrade Kit.
